A DARTS player from the Isle of Wight who sleeps on cardboard at airports to save money when competing internationally, said he earned more prize money playing in a pool event after getting knocked out a tournament in Romania.
Craig Brown plays in tournaments on the World Darts Federation (WDF) circuit — the most recent in Bucharest, his first event of the year.
The Islander, who is seeking sponsorship, competed in six WDF circuit events last year, in Slovakia, Hungary, Belgium, Sweden, Latvia and Ireland.

His best finish was reaching the Swedish Masters quarter-finals.
Unfortunately for Craig, he was knocked out in the last 128 of the Romanian Masters to David Davies from Wales, a player who reached the semi-finals.
Following his loss, Craig, who often gets cheap flights and sleeps on cardboard in airports to save on travel expenses, contacted a friend in Bucharest to find a pool competition.
Craig, who is also a talented snooker player, who represented England in 2017, found a tournament and turned up with his suitcase.
Despite not practising pool or snooker for 13 months, he entered, borrowed a cue from a fellow player and won the first five matches to reach the final.
Craig lost the final 7-4 to one of Bucharest's best players.
"The dart weekend did not go to plan, but I ended up with a medal and made more money from pool than darts," said Craig, 30.
